Site Progress

I've been playing with the site for a while and am looking into adding a little more content, maybe something that can be updated a little more rapidly or something more social than a page of links. In general I'm pretty pleased with how things are turning out. It hasn't required much effort to maintain and the hardest part is coming up with new content to write about at a decent length. That makes me think maybe adding some additional content of some type. What that looks like? Who's to say?

Writing on a regular basis has been a pretty good exercise. It gets me to be a little bit more introspected and collected throughout the day. Not every day has any productive output, but the gears are definitely turning. It feels like a skill that has atrophied so much that it's going to take a while to build up. The foundation is there; now I just need to keep building it up until it gets trivial to type out something I'm satisfied with. Writing prompts are still slow, but they're getting there.

Part of what makes Neocities a great platform is that anytime I feel like not wanting to add any updates, I can sort by newly updated and see lots of people are doing new and interesting things on their sites. If they're willing to experiment and put more time into their sites, there's no reason why I can't, either. I've already gone through a number of code revisions/refactors, so there's no reason not to experiment with adding a few additional things. Maybe the key is to think of it as potential content that could be easily pulled if it doesn't work out so great. It's not that hard to remove navigation links to shit content. Well...more shit than I'm willing to accept, anyway.
